Bye Bye ‘Bucks

Think Coffee // 248 Mercer St., between 3rd and 4th Sts.

Think Coffee is not your average local coffeehouse trying to stick it to the Man (or Howard Schultz) by attempting to bank on its authentic appeal or quirky features (though it has both). Think surpasses its competitors by simply making great coffee. The pièce de résistance: their iced coffee is cold-brewed. But what does that result in exactly? A smooth, non-bitter libation that is all too perfect for the steamy New York summer. And the pastries aren’t too shabby either…not to mention Think’s barista lessons, readings, concerts, free wireless and ever-present Scrabble boards. Open until midnight seven nights a week, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t stop in and see what all the fuss is about. More easternly located? Check out their newest outpost at the corner of Bowery and Bleecker.
